Pinkie on its way back to rude health after bike accident

Good news from bro-in-law (injured this week after going into the back of a car) - he had surgery (a general anaesthetic no less) but didn't need to stay in hospital overnight. Has huge cast which should come off tomorrow. The main worry now of course is ... how the hell to type and use a mouse when your finger is wrapped up. And even more important - how soon do you get back on your bike after an accident like that?

Good luck to your brother. The lesson I take from his story is - if you have an accident ALWAYS get the phone number and plate number of the driver, even when you think you and your bike are okay. I've had a couple of bumps and on one occasion I thought I was fine -- to realise later that my thumb was dislocated; on the other I thought the bike was fine -- to realise later that it would need new handlebars. The trouble is you tend to go into shock when you come off, so it is important to keep you options open in those critical five minutes.

I think that's a very fair point Mark. The question is - will we have the presence of mind to actually do it? Let's hope so and your comments will probably help remind people ...
